JOHN GURSKI AWARD
Upon
the retirement of John Gurski, the Century Club decided they would like to
present an award in honor of John, his accomplishments, and football
greatness that he brought to Wilson High School over the years. As with other
Century Club awards, the Gurski Award exemplifies John Gurski’s attitudes and
character toward the sport of football.
CRITERIA
A
senior football player, who through the course of his career at Wilson, has
demonstrated outstanding leadership qualities on and off the field. He has
the utmost respect of his teammates and coaches as an outstanding athlete, as
well as an outstanding person. His football performance presents a positive
reflection on the Wilson program especially in the areas of discipline,
dedication, and determination to succeed. The award consists of a trophy
sculptured in coal and a cash award.
