WILSON DISTRICT 3 STATS & NOTES
District 3 playoffs began in 1982 with three classifications: A, AA, AAA. Wilson was part of AAA. In 1985 the field expanded to a fourth classification, AAAA (or Quad A), where Wilson competes to this day. Classifications are decided based on school enrollment numbers every 2 years. From 1982 through 2003, only four teams (in AAAA) made the District 3 playoffs. The AAAA field was expanded to eight teams in 2004 & 2005, and finally to 16 teams in 2006, where it remains to this day.
